Thanks for your interest in donating to GiveWell via a donor-advised fund (DAF). If you already have a DAF, please follow the directions below. Learn more about creating a DAF.
To make a gift, direct your DAF sponsoring organization to make a grant using GiveWell’s Federal EIN: 20-8625442. Please note that GiveWell will be listed under our legal name, The Clear Fund.
We recommend that you utilize the “memo” or “use” field to indicate how you would like your donation allocated. You can specify the All Grants Fund, the Top Charities Fund, the Unrestricted Fund, or specific Top Charities. Donations to our Unrestricted Fund may be used for operating expenses or, per our excess assets policy, be designated for grantmaking to highly impactful and cost-effective programs. GiveWell’s board retains final discretion over grant decisions.
Alternatively, you can email our team at donations@givewell.org and let us know the name of your DAF account, the amount of your donation, and your desired designation. We will then match it to your donation once we receive it from your DAF sponsoring organization.
