In September 2017, GiveWell staff traveled to Rangpur and Dhaka, in Bangladesh, to visit 2017 top charity contender No Lean Season, a program of RDRS Bangladesh and Evidence Action. During our visit, No Lean Season was in the process of distributing no-interest loans for seasonal labor migration targeting low-income households in rural northern Bangladesh.
Our six-day visit included:
- Meetings and discussions with: Evidence Action Beta senior staff, senior staff of RDRS Bangladesh, RDRS field staff, and Evidence Action Beta monitoring staff.
- Village visits and discussions with past program participants and potential future program participants.
