Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)

In August 2022, GiveWell recommended a grant of $10.4 million to the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to support a new CHAI Incubator, which aims to scope and scale cost-effective interventions. See the grant page here for more up-to-date information about CHAI. We are no longer maintaining the review of CHAI below.

Published: November 2012, Updated: October 2017

We contacted the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI; clintonhealthaccess.org) in 2012, 2016, and 2017 because it works on several of our priority programs, including immunizations, prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and zinc/oral rehydration solution, and because we understand its work to be highly regarded among global health groups. We did not complete a full review because CHAI declined to fully participate in our review process.
